about

Screever came to be after Dan Nazario convinced his good friend Ethan to finally record some of the songs he had written over the past few years. Some songs were written as far back as 2014 and others as recently as 2020. Ethan’s style of song-writing has changed over the years from his days playing in punk bands to his more recent venture into acoustic and folk music. The songs on this album explore that spectrum while retaining a unified sound unique to Ethan.

Dan recruited Ben Cardine to play bass and Screever got to work writing and playing music. Though Ethan provided demos, every song on this album was improved by the musical insights of Dan and Ben.

After only a few rehearsals, Screever was ready to record. They headed to Sound Splitter Studio where producer and engineer Justin Nazario would bring these songs to life. Justin shaped the sonic tone and feel that transformed this collection of individual songs into a cohesive album. Being a talented musician, he also contributed lead guitar on multiple tracks.

By recording these songs, they are etched into history, albeit their own small corner. Each can serve as a reminder of a certain time, place or feeling. But ultimately recording a song finishes it. A record is the end result of the song-writing process. Finishing this album allows the members of Screever to move forward; to write a new song. For now they offer this 10-song, self-titled album. Enjoy.
